If our SS23 collection was a captivating on-stage performance, consider our Runway offering its hotly anticipated encore. An homage to the electrifying energy of the early punk, glam, and new wave movements, this vibrant capsule of luxury Runway inspired shoes is distinctly daring in its disposition. Last time, we looked to the likes of Debbie Harry, Grace Jones, and Bianca Jagger for visual cues. Now, it’s the inimitable David Bowie who plays muse.
The primary inspiration for this luxury shoe collection came from Ziggy Stardust, Bowie’s iconic alter ego, along with his famous Tokyo Pop jumpsuit, designed by the visionary Kansai Yamamoto. Perhaps one of Bowie’s most recognisable outfits, this black vinyl suit, with its contrasting white stripes, was cleverly designed so that the trousers would mimic the shape of a record.
Thanks to his varied and imaginative personas, Bowie is commonly regarded as the master of reinvention. Our own style chameleon, Maureen, is reimagined this season in coloured PVC with tonal metallic trims. Precisely placed rows of crystals emulate the curved lines of Yamamoto’s creation, whilst also accentuating Maureen’s ever-present waved lines. Available in soft rose or smoky brown iterations – and with varying heel heights – this dazzling women’s heeled shoe is as rock ‘n’ roll as they come.
Continuing the showstopping theme, all-new Keaton’s platform sole and towering block heel also play host to a swirl of shimmering embellishments. Destined for the dancefloor, these women’s black satin sandals might just be the perfect party shoe. Meanwhile, Perla is the picture of refined ‘70s-inspired elegance. Understated in contrast to other shoes in the collection, this brown raffia sandal proves that less is sometimes more.
